Your contribution can help bring insurance into the classroom

InVEST is a 501(c)(3) educational trust which relies solely on the tax-deductible contributions from insurance companies, foundations, insurance professionals and other orgranizations concerned about workforce development. These contributors are visionary leaders who understand the critical need to attract a new generation of insurance professionals to the industry. Their commitment will be appreciated by today's insurance agents and all future insurance professionals. InVEST would like to thank our Valedictorian, Salutatorian and Honor Roll donors (displayed on the left) for their commitment to insurance industry perpetuation.

InVEST is making strides in the education community and with industry leaders as the program for insurance industry perpetuation. InVEST is changing the perception of the insurance industry by working with educators to enlighten students about insurance and its wide variety of career options. Bringing the education community together with the business community InVEST creates a synergy with great potential.  InVEST takes advantage of every opportunity to educate the student, improve the image of the insurance industry, and increase the pool of potential, insurance-literate employees.

Insurance literacy:
A survey of InVEST students conducted May 2011 revealed that 88% found the InVEST course valuable and useful with 73% indicating it was interesting and engaging.  Incorporating insurance into the classroom does provide positive results in improving insurance literacy as 90% of the students surveyed indicated that they had learned things about insurance that they did not know prior to taking the course.

Reputation:
InVEST continues to bring awareness to the insurance industry so that students can understand how insurance affects our economy and result in a positive image of the insurance industry.  This is crucial to them considering insurance industry as possible employment choice.  Survey of InVEST students conducted May 2011 indicated that 36% of the students stated the InVEST course increased their interest in working in the insurance industry.  41% of the students said they would consider a career in the insurance industry.

Attracting New Talent:
We hope to duplicate similar results that we experienced from a study done on student internship conversion success rate to full-time employment in the insurance industry. This study revealed that when student intemships are combined with an InVEST program, those students were much better prepared. The combination of InVEST classroom training and student internships is the most productive combination for producing future insurance career employees.
