The Student Center is an InVEST website geared specifically for students who want to learn more about the insurance industry. Insurance touches everything from disasters to sports and allows young professionals an opportunity to create a career that suits their personality and goals. Former InVEST Student Shares Her Insights:
I only enrolled in the InVEST program because I wanted to get the most out of the business courses and hopefully find something new and exciting out of the ordinary high school curriculum “box”. InVEST sounded like the perfect fit. I found getting to interact with insurance professionals and the introduction to the insurance industry was educational and fun – pretty much all the things you don’t expect from a typical classroom setting.
After graduating I received scholarships to attend college and interned at a local carrier during my studies. I was able to obtain first-hand experience and work with professionals who I now call my colleagues. Upon graduation, I was hired on full-time and am now a Senior Underwriting Assistant/Quality Control for Dryden Mutual Insurance Company. In fact, one in three of my colleagues are InVEST graduates.
I look back and realize what an opportunity I was given just through my involvement in a high school class--InVEST. Participating in InVEST gave me real work experience and jump-started my career in insurance.
